About Goodman’s Behavioral Health Clinic Supporting Your Path to Wellness

Since 2008, Goodman’s Behavioral Health Clinic is a private outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment for people from all walks of life. We provide services in a professional, non-threatening, comfortable, and caring environment.

We believe that each person is on their own unique journey and, as such, we customize care plans and offer therapy groups based on individual needs. We also believe that it takes a safe space to reach the full potential of that journey. We strive to provide that space. We value confidentiality and take our clients' trust very seriously.

Barbara Goodman LCSW, MSSW, CS-IT, CSAC, IDP-AT

Hi, I’m Barbara Goodman, owner and clinical director of Goodman’s Behavioral Health Clinic. I’ve worked in the mental health and substance abuse fields for 40 years.

I love coming to work and sharing my time with individuals who come to our clinic. I’m currently seeing clients who need court-ordered assessments. I look forward to meeting those who are in need of our services.

Brea Goodman LCSW, MSSW, CS-IT, CSAC, IDP-AT

Brea obtained her Master’s of Social Work from Louisiana State University. She is a dual-diagnosis therapist who works with clients who struggle with substance use, anxiety, and/or intrusive thoughts. Brea also oversees our county contract for the Intoxicated Driver Program (IDP). She completes the assessments and makes referrals for Driver Safety Plans.

Brea’s therapeutic approach is client centered. She has nine years of field-related experience and is passionate about wellness and recovery.

Dakota Goodman MSSW, CS-IT, CSAC, IDP-AT

Dakota obtained her Master’s of Social Work from Louisiana State University and is working toward her dual diagnosis therapy license. She works with individuals to complete mandated anger, AODA, and BIPA assessments.

Dakota’s therapeutic approach is client-centered, and she is especially passionate about helping individuals who struggle with anger, anxiety, and self-esteem issues.

Claudia Bavlnka LPC

Claudia is a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience. As a parent and a previous high school teacher, Claudia offers a wide breadth of traditional and alternative treatment modalities. She is a certified EMDR therapist which is a psychotherapy treatment designed to ease the distress associated with traumatic memories. She is also a Reiki Master and nearing completion of her Animal Assisted Psychotherapy certification. Claudia offers both individual and dynamic group therapy and enjoys working with children, adults and families.

Claudia embraces the belief that the healing and evolution of one’s true self is a worthy lifelong journey.
